Brian Symonds is a Consultant in the Lake Oswego office of The Bates Group, where he uses his experience in economics to provide detailed forensic analyses of account trading activity and supplemental schedules for securities litigation cases.

Brian joined Bates in September 2013 as an Analyst, was promoted to Associate in June of 2015, and was promoted to Senior Associate in May of 2017. Brian is an integral part of Bates’ Retail Litigation practice, and recently worked to execute the initial stages of a large Consolidated Reporting project for a national Insurance and Financial Services firm.

As a Consultant, Brian provides high-level leadership and mentoring to Bates analysts and associates, while consulting with management staff and experts regarding case objectives, outstanding issues and the best ways to approach them. He also acts as case manager, maintaining client relationships and meeting deadlines. Brian is well versed in Bates Group’s complex supplemental schedules (such as hypotheticals, standstills & various other client-specific requests) and standard analyses, and he is involved in training analysts and associates on various supplemental schedules

Prior to joining Bates, Mr. Symonds worked for World’s Foremost Bank/Cabela’s Club processing and troubleshooting credit applications.
