William T. Freebing

William Freebing is a Bates Group financial services expert with proficient experience across client retail service environments. Combining strategic and tactical expertise in sales, marketing, market planning, branch operations, supervision and training, Mr. Freebing uses his more than 25 years of branch management and business development experience to provide services for Bates group’s clients and their counsel.

For almost a decade, Mr. Freebing served in various positions at UBS Financial Services, Inc. Most recently he was the Assistant Market Head where his responsibilities included: sales management, financial advisor development, project and program management for the Central Texas Market (comprising 8 branches). He worked closely with Market Heads to increase Assets Under Management, Net New Money, Percent of Advisory, and Financial Advisor Recruiting.  Additionally, Mr. Freebing provided daily investment solutions and training to financial advisors, based on their clients’ needs regarding liquidity, longevity, and legacy.  He orchestrated weekly educational meetings to inform financial advisors on market trends and volatility. Mr. Freebing was acknowledged in 2017 for Divisional and Peer achievement for 15% increases in advisory revenue, transaction revenue, and net new assets.

Prior to joining UBS, Mr. Freebing was Business Development Director at Legacy Wealth Management, were he formulated and implemented a new $50M strategic business plan to increase assets by 10% under management, introduced prospects to 4 financial planning and wealth management teams for consultative selling process, and performed market research projects to support the business development requirements of this private financial firm.

Mr. Freebing began his financial services career at Fidelity Investments. As a Branch Manager he guided Investor center staff and developed business operations from discount trading into full-service sales and service.  He created innovative marketing plans and produced professional service forums, customer focus groups, and weekly seminars to explore services to educate and penetrate new and existing client base. 

A FINRA arbitrator, Mr. Freebing holds a certificate in Financial Planning as well as securities licenses 8, 7, 66, 65, 63, and Insurance.  He holds an MBA from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Arizona State.
