Jonathan D. Mishkin, LL.M. is an affiliate expert in the Lake Oswego, Oregon office of Bates Group where he utilizes his extensive background in domestic and international taxation to consult and provide expert witness testimony on complex financial matters involving the federal/state/local/international tax consequences of securities transactions.
Mr. Mishkin has an economics and political science degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Oregon School of Law, and an LL.M. in Taxation from the Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as the Graduate Tax Policy Scholar advising the United States Congress on matters of tax policy and legislation.
Mr. Mishkin is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Oregon School of Law where he teaches Tax Practice and Procedure (audit defense) and is an instructor on various tax courses for graduate students at Portland State University. Mr. Mishkin is also a member of the Estate Planning Council of Portland and serves on the boards of various charitable organizations. He has lectured extensively and has written articles in his field of specialization.
